AYODHYA RESEARCH INSTITUTE was founded on 18 August 1986 as an autonomous organization of the Culture Department of UTTAR PRADESH. It is an organization formed to research on Ramkatha, find the historical significance of Ayodhya in relation to all the religions, study about Art, Literature, Culture, Folk art of Avadh, especially of Ayodhya, research on Vaishnavism, Bhakti movement & stories about Lord Rama, & preserve ancient documents of Avadh.
