After the global method which was not conclusive, and the analytical method which teaches deciphering but not comprehension, we created this method which we will call "Method of the anticipated sense", because its main characteristic is to ask the pupils to try to decipher that in a search of meaning.
The goal of "Nana and Her Friends" is to ensure that all students learn to read by understanding what they are reading. Considering that 85% of academic failure is due to reading problems, this learning strategy can lead as many students as possible to academic success.
The pupil must approach learning to read, no longer as a mechanical deciphering process, but as the deciphering of the meaning of writing. Deciphering is at the service of meaning and not the other way around.
Because some children do not understand why they are taught deciphering and learn with docility but without real motivation. The real motivation for learning to read is the search for meaning: we train young students to become, definitively, readers who seek meaning.
“Nana and her friends” is a “writing entry” strategy made up of images and texts that lead the GS student to approach and put in place all the knowledge essential to facilitate learning to read. at CP and this in all its aspects.
The goal of "Nana and Her Friends" is to get all students to start their first grade with, at a minimum, the desire to learn to read and a good knowledge of how to do it.
