Police resources can't keep pace with population growth. Crime keeps rising every year, especially against women and elderly, despite stricter laws and fast track courts. A Delhi-based start-up, Herdum, is readying a platform that will enable citizen to make their communities safer.
Herdum is building a globally unique integrated security system. A person needing assistance will be able to voice activate SOS using a wearable smart button that couples to their smartphone, the SOS directly alerts nearby responders, who will be able to reach the person needing assistance within 2-3 min and hopefully prevent serious crime, before police arrives on the scene, which is typically at least 10-15 min later, given traffic conditions. The platform will also be used for medical emergencies. It will be akin to having a 911 service with the flexibility and agility of Uber.
Using Artificial Intelligence, this product can have far-reaching consequences in building safer communities. Artificial Intelligence systems need tons of real-world data to be able to code the intelligence. Herdum solicits your assistance is building this data base - please spare a few minutes of your time to record a 2-word pass phrase that you would use to voice-activate SOS -- typically, words that you might say naturally when you face an personal assault. This has to be spoken 10 or more times, in your natural language. The voice data will be stored anonymously in secure servers and used only for analysis for building a robust product. Your ID, location, etc are not being stored. No compromise. That's a promise. www.iraherdum.com
