Alsace what a story!

Alsace, at the confluence of many cultures and civilizations, has been shaped during a rich and often tumultuous history. Witnessing the dark, but also splendid, hours of the European continent, today's Alsace still reveals traces and reflections of this past on its monuments, its dialect and its culture.

Through audio stories of politicians, artists and other protagonists or witnesses of the history that marked the region, this journey of time explores four periods: the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-1871, the First World War, the Second World War and Peace Building (European Construction).

In addition to illustrating the historical evolution of Alsace, linking digital tools to deepen knowledge (websites, blogs, applications, bibliography) and to present the places of memory to visit, the site suggests circuits tailored to historical periods of interest.
