What is BMI?
Body Mass Index is a value that represents whether a person weighs too much, too little, or normal relative to their height. It is an easy way to determine whether you are at a healthy weight.

How is BMI Calculated?
BMI is calculated by dividing a person's weight (kg) by their height (meters) squared. BMI is calculated using imperial units in a similar way. The weight in kg is substituted with lbs and height in meters with inches. The final result is multiplied by a constant.

Why are Age and Gender not Inputs?
BMI is only calculated only using height and weight, so gender and age don't affect this value. While the average BMI varies slightly between different genders and ages, the World Health Organization recommends both men and women should strive for a BMI range between 18.5–24.9.
