Ibn Sirin is Abu Bakr Muhammad bin Sirin Al-Basri (653 AD - 729 AD). The great Tabibi and the mighty imam in interpretation, hadith, jurisprudence, and interpretation of visions, and the leader in asceticism, piety, and honoring one’s parents.
He heard about Abu Hurairah, Ibn Abbas, and many of the companions, and he was a hadith scholar, jurist, imam, abundant in knowledge, an expert in the interpretation of dreams, a head of piety, with humor, and he did not see narration in the meaning. Anas bin Malik wrote it down in Persia. The authors of the six books and others narrated that he was knowledgeable about arithmetic, religious duties, and decrees. He was prosperous. He would part his hair and dye it with henna. He would fast one day and break his fast the next. Ibn Sirin was famous for his piety and was a brilliant scholar in interpreting visions.
