Sheikh Ali Abdullah Jaber was born in Jeddah in 1373 AH (1953 AD).
He memorized the Holy Quran at the age of fifteen. He studied under Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Baz and Sheikh Muhammad al-Mukhtar bin Ahmed al-Jakani al-Shanqiti. He was an imam at the private mosque of King Khalid bin Abdulaziz, and then the King appointed him as the imam of the Grand Mosque in Mecca.
He passed away on Wednesday, the twelfth of Dhul-Qi'dah, 1426 AH (December 14, 2005 AD) due to a currency error.
