He is the knower of God, the righteous saint, the possessor of divine insights and divine knowledge, known as Abu Al-Irfan and nicknamed Abdullah.
Sheikh Muhammad Abd Al-Raouf Ibrahim
Al-Muhammadi Al-Shadhili is of noble lineage, as his lineage goes back to our master and lord Imam Al-Hussein, may God be pleased with him and satisfy him, on both his father and mother’s sides.
His Eminence was born on Wednesday, corresponding to the 29th of Jumada Al-Ula, 1365 AH, corresponding to the 1st of May, 1946 AD, in his grandfather’s house in Hadayek Al-Qubba.
He began memorizing the Holy Quran from a young age and enrolled in government schools until he completed his education there. Then came the turning point in his life when he met his Sheikh, the eminent Imam, Sheikh Muhammad Zaki Al-Din Ibrahim (may God have mercy on him)
(on October 17, 1968 AD, at the end of Jumada Al-Akhira, 1388 AH).
He remained close to him, never leaving him, imbibing his knowledge and drawing from his lights. He followed the path at the hands and with the permission of his Sheikh in all his narrations. His behavior was… The path was accompanied by great trials and great hardships that only the greatest saints could bear... until his Sheikh, the pioneer Imam (may God be pleased with him), passed away on Wednesday, the 16th of Jumada al-Akhira, 1419 AH, corresponding to October 7, 1998 AD. He spent thirty years under the care of his Sheikh, filled with lights, bounties, and divine inspirations from the Lord of the Worlds... Then, after him, he carried the banner of his Sheikh in spreading the righteous Sufi thought. God bestowed upon the Sheikh divine knowledge, divine secrets, and sacred truths that tongues are unable to mention until he passed away to be with his Generous Lord on the 23rd of Rajab, 1439 AH, corresponding to April 10, 2018 AD. The Sheikh left behind a great legacy of knowledge and divine bounty. He authored more than fifty books, letters, and verses, some of which are printed and some of which are still in manuscript form. He left behind dozens of disciples who follow his path. His rational thought and the thought of his previous sheikhs, may God be pleased with them all.
