Introduction to Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim
He is Imam Muhammad bin Abi Bakr bin Ayyub bin Saad bin Hariz Al-Zar’i Al-Dimashqi, nicknamed Shams Al-Din and Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawzia. Ibn Al-Qayyim was born in the year 691 AH.
Ibn al-Qayyim is known for his abundance of knowledge and for his knowledge, as he excelled, may God have mercy on him, in many sciences, most notably the sciences of hadith, jurisprudence, interpretation and biography.
He also mastered Arabic and its arts, so this was a chapter in his understanding of the sciences of Sharia through understanding the words of God Almighty and the hadith of His Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace.
The most prominent sheikhs and students of Ibn Al-Qayyim
Imam Ibn al-Qayyim, may God Almighty have mercy on him, received knowledge from a number of eminent sheikhs and scholars, and perhaps one of the most prominent and most closely related to Ibn al-Qayyim is his shaykh, Imam Taqi al-Din Ibn Taymiyyah.
He is known as Sheikh al-Islam, where Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya followed Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah and heard knowledge from him orally and adhered to him until the death of his Sheikh Ibn Taymiyyah, may God have mercy on him.
Among these scholars are also the notable ones who received the knowledge of Ibn al-Qayyim at their hands, the Shihab al-Nabulsi.
, Ibn Shirazi and others. Ibn al-Qayyim has many great students as well, the most famous of which is al-Hafiz Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali, who is famous for his memorization and narration of the hadith of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.

The life of Ibn al-Qayyim, may God Almighty have mercy on him, lived his life in obedience to God and seeking knowledge.
Likewise, he, may God Almighty have mercy on him, was subjected to many trials and tribulations, most notably the prison in which he spent part of his life; Because of some fatwas, as he was imprisoned with his Sheikh Ibn Taymiyyah in the castle prison
But in another room, he was released from prison after the death of Ibn Taymiyyah, and Ibn Al-Qayyim, may God Almighty have mercy on him, died on the night of Thursday, corresponding to the thirteenth of Rajab in the year 751 AH.
