Mender is a handyman service provider, as well as a lead provider for a select group of well trained, background checked contractors. Users simply create an account, post a job description, upload at least 1 picture and you’re done! From there the contractors will have an opportunity to either accept or decline your job, based on the contractor’s availability. If the contractor accepts the job, you will be contacted immediately to set up a time for the contractor to come by and fix that problem of yours.
Once the appointment is set up, the contractor will show up to your listed location and fix the problem. The contractors keep track of their time through our app, ensuring you only pay for the time worked and nothing more. If new parts are needed, our contractors will run to the store for you and pick up any parts needed to complete the project. If new parts are needed, our contractors upload a picture of the material receipt directly through the app, ensuring you only pay for the product, and not mark up prices.
After the contractor has completed the job, they will ensure that the totals on the invoice are correct and end the job. Once a job has been closed, the customer will automatically be charged. We use Stripe.com to handle all transactions, ensuring no credit card or other financial data is stored on our servers. After a successful payment has been made, we send you an email receipt complete with an itemized list of charges.
Mender is a small business. A local business who just wants to support the little guys and put food on their table. We are not a corporation or franchise. We support local businesses and those who are daring enough to learn a new skill and support their community through their own small businesses.
Our main goal here at Mender is to do away with the corporations that exploit our hardworking contractors and to give them a chance to prove their skill and support their communities. We also desire to teach a few individuals the skills necessary to become a self-sustaining business owner in a small community.
