NSHM community radio station was established Six years back to create a platform for disseminating knowledge and social communication in the community and beyond. The station aims to become the voice of the community through socially motivated and informative programmes.

Genesis
NSHM Institute of Media & Communication a leading Media College in Eastern India launched its Community Radio Station 91.2 Y-FM on December 25, 2013

Thematic Focus
Empowerment of Women & Youth, Education, Health, Environment, Art & Culture, Community Development, Traditional & Folk Songs etc.

Surer Aakashey, Hello Doctor, Yaar-Kalakar, Mindroom, Nayi Roshni, Dishari, Limelight, Ayiner Chokhey, Maatir Gaan, Srijani, Kalakunj, Sankalpa, Kichhu Katha Kichhu Gaan, Vasundhara, Career Scape, etc.

Innovations in Format
NSHM Community Radio continuously evaluates the effectiveness of the programmes through feedback from its listener. This feedback is incorporated in the programming process.
