The app pARticipate can be used to create photo series. The idea is that as many users as possible take photos of predefined objects at predefined locations to create photo series. If the photos are taken over a longer period of time, changes in the objects / landscape can be derived from the photos and analyzed. Hence, the app can be used for long-term monitoring.

In order for the photos to be analyzed automatically, the photos should be taken where possible at a similar angle and orientation. The app therefore contains a small augmented reality (AR) function to assist the user when taking new photos.

The app is currently still in the testing stage. In the long term, the app is intended to be used in citizen science projects with different thematic focuses.
