एक बार की बात है माँ अनुसूया त्रिदेव ब्रह्मा, विष्णु, महेश जैसे पुत्र की प्राप्ति के लिए कड़े तप में लीन हो गईं, जिससे तीनों देवों की अर्धांगिनियां सरस्वती, लक्ष्मी और पार्वती को जलन होने लगी।

भगवान शंकर का साक्षात रूप महाराज दत्तात्रेय में मिलता है और तीनो ईश्वरीय शक्तियों से समाहित महाराज दत्तात्रेय की आराधना बहुत ही सफल और जल्दी से फल देने वाली है। महाराज दत्तात्रेय आजन्म ब्रह्मचारी, अवधूत और दिगम्बर रहे थे। वे सर्वव्यापी है और किसी प्रकार के संकट में बहुत जल्दी से भक्त की सुध लेने वाले हैं, अगर मानसिक, या कर्म से या वाणी से महाराज दत्तात्रेय की उपासना की जाये तो भक्त किसी भी कठिनाई से शीघ्र दूर हो जाते हैं।

Since Lord Dattatreya is the combined form of Lord Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva – the Hindu trinity, this form is a highly powerful one in blessing the devotees with abundance, prosperity and happiness
To prevent problems or to overcome a mild problem, chant ‘Shri Gurudev Datta’ daily for one to two hours.
At other times, to prevent problems arising out of destiny and for spiritual progress, an average individual or seeker in the primary stage should chant the Name of his Kuladevata (Family Shri) as much as is possible.
