Oral health is a major indicator of overall health, well-being and quality of life.
Most of the burden of oral disease is attributed to seven diseases and conditions of the oral cavity. These include dental caries, periodontal (gum) disease, oral cancers, intraoral manifestations of HIV infection, oral and dental injuries, cleft lip and palate, and noma. Almost all diseases and conditions are either largely preventable or treatable in their early stages.

This is a group of diseases characterized by inflammation of the oral mucosa with hyperemia, edema, and an increase in the amount of mucus in the oral cavity. Depending on the severity and depth of the lesion, even sores or foci of necrosis can form in the oral cavity, which sharply violate the general state of the child's health - fever, weakness, anxiety, refusal to eat.
There are many causes of the disease: mechanical, chemical, thermal, bacterial factors. Contaminated nipples, toys, and other items that enter the baby's mouth are often the cause of illness in infancy. Often stomatitis develops with infectious diseases (measles, scarlet fever, influenza, whooping cough, etc.) The mucous membrane of the oral cavity becomes bright red, becomes edematous, teeth imprints are visible on the mucous membrane of the cheeks and tongue. Saliva becomes viscous, stringy. The mucous membrane is covered with a whitish coating. Tongue dry, edematous, often with a brown tint, painful chewing. The duration of the disease is from 1 to 3 weeks, the prognosis is favorable.
