Mudra is the ancient art of communication between the body, mind and consciousness. It is defined as a mystical gesture of the hand to focus elusive energy by symbols. Mudra is a voluntary neuro-muscular action by which Prana (life force) is controlled and directed.

Mudras is related to Yogasanam. Mudras are subtle physical movements of the hands, face, and or body. Complex mudras involve the whole body in a combination of asana, while simple mudras range from hand positions to meditation techniques.
