Kuching City, is the capital of the state of Sarawak in Malaysia. It is also the most populous city in the state of Sarawak. The city is on the Sarawak River at the southwest tip of the state of Sarawak on the island of Borneo and covers an area of 450 square kilometres (173 square miles) with a population of around 600,000 people. The city is administrated by two local governments - Kuching North City Hall and Kuching South City Council.
