But every desire fulfilled a magical piece of skin inevitably shrinks, reducing the life of his master ... According to the author, all in the novel "The myth and symbol." Even his name can not be translated clearly: the French word chagrin means not only "shagreen leather - leather grade", but also "the sadness, the grief."
