About River

River is Brooklyn’s first open-gym megareformer studio. In our coached sessions, you’ll move through full-body sequences on custom raftformers—machines built for strength, endurance, and precision. Controlled resistance meets faster “Rapids” intervals to build athletic power and sharpen control. Because of how the machine is designed, our raftformers unlock movements and muscle activation you won’t experience on any other megareformer workout. Every session blends slow, sustained, and fast movements so both your slow-twitch and fast-twitch muscle fibers are fully activated—unlike traditional gym training, which primarily targets fast-twitch fibers, or other pilates-based workouts, which emphasize slow-twitch endurance. This is a total-body experience that trains every layer of strength. Coaches guide every transition with precision and intensity, while curated playlists move seamlessly with your pace and energy.

After completing the required number of group classes, you’ll unlock Free Flow—our self-guided format that gives you your own raftformer and the freedom to define your journey based on your specific goals outside of the class setting. A coach is always present for support, but how you move, focus, and progress is entirely your own.
