Asala Mustafa Hatem Nasri was born in Damascus on May 15, 1969, and Asala's father is Mustafa Nasri, who was a well-known artist and composer, and he was the one who discovered his daughter's artistic talent when she was four, and the beginning of her artistic activity was some songs aimed at children and then the works of art were rolled and varied. In addition, Asala, a Syrian-born and original, also obtained Bahraini citizenship.

In 1986, when Asala was 17 years old, her father, the Syrian composer Mustafa Nasri, died, and his death was a major shock to her and she was forced to be responsible with her mother for the care of her four sisters, Reem, Amani, Ayman and Aymen.

Asala Nasri gained fame in the Arab world after the release of her song "I Hear The Echo of Your Voice" in 1991, and then released an album entitled "Lou Know", which included several songs of an Oriental tarab character such as "I forgave you a lot", "Ya Sabra" and this album met with success and increased the popularity in the Arab world at that time.
