This book is considered one of the most famous travel books in history. “Ibn Battuta” was known for his many travels, and because of his international fame, he was dubbed the “Cambridge Society” as “Prince of Muslim Travelers”. “Ibn Battuta” began his journey from “Tangiers,” his birthplace. Intending to perform the Hajj of the Sacred House of God, and departed without a companion or relative, and took a companion in every city in which he stood, so he told about him and about the city in which he met him. The time of his travels was estimated at nearly thirty years, and he dictated to “Ibn Jazi al-Kalbi” the details of those trips and their anecdotes, and after he finished writing this, he called his author: “The Lookout in Strange Sights.” Ibn Battuta was not satisfied with the external description of the places he visited, but he talked more about the entrances and exits of cities and the characteristics of the different peoples he lived with, and he narrated many interesting stories that made us not even the most interesting travels in Arabic literature. Without calling him “Ibn Battuta”.
