VIOSOR is a mobile application designed by deaf and hard of hearing women for women and people with this functional diversity.

Its objective is to facilitate immediate communication with 112 in the event of gender violence, through a simple visual code that identifies different

situations of gender violence: severe physical violence, mild physical violence, threats and psychological violence.

It also includes the ability to report domestic violence, the presence of minors, or a general emergency situation.

Its development has been possible thanks to the grant from the Regional Ministry of Equality, Social Policies and Conciliation of the Junta de Andalucía to the Integration Association of Deaf Women of the South.

The application has been made following the protocols of the General Directorate of Emergencies and Civil Protection of the Junta de Andalucía to integrate into the 112 system in a similar way to a phone call.

VIOSOR is not just a free download and use APP. It is also a project that aims to make gender violence visible in women with hearing disabilities or deafness and provide them and professional groups with knowledge and strategies to address it effectively.

Women with disabilities, including deafness or hearing loss, are especially vulnerable to gender-based violence. It is estimated that, in our country, it affects 72% of them.

There is a specificity of gender violence in deaf women marked by special vulnerability, multiple-level barriers, ignorance about their own situation, dependency and, above all, the lack of adaptation of the available resources to the SCI.

Hence the creation of VIOSOR.

Its very simple operation and similar to an emergency call. By clicking on the image of the icon that identifies the status of the notice, it reaches 112 directly.

The Public Emergency Service 112 Andalusia geolocates the situation of the mobile and the person and activates the immediate help needed depending on the severity of the emergency.
