Surah Al-Fajr was revealed in Makkah thats why it is called as a Makki Surah. It contains 30 verses with a total of 139 words and 584 letters.

The name Al-Fajr means “The Dawn”. It takes its name from the first Ayat of this Surah.

It was revealed while the persecution was being done on the people who started embracing Islam.

Benefits for Reciting Surah Al-Fajr:
1) The one who recites Surah Al-Fajr often, he will be accompanied by Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) on the Day Of Judgment.
2) The one who recites Surah Al-Fajr, then Allah will forgive his sins equal to ten times the number of people who recite it.
3) On the Day Of Judgment, he will have a light shinning on him.
4) A person who writes it on a piece of paper and then ties it on his back in a cloth, then he will have a child who will be a blessing for him and will also be of pride for him.


It is narrated from the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.) that the one who recites this surah, Allah (s.w.t.) will forgive his sins amounting to ten times the number of people who recite this surah. On the Day of Reckoning, he will have a shining light.
