People generate a lot of waste daily, most of which is not disposed appropriately. Waste litters our environment and is responsible for numerous negative impacts such as clogging drainage infrastructure causing flooding; provide habitat for disease causing organisms; release harmful chemicals that affect living organisms; degraded aesthetics; and lease of toxic fumes when burnt.

Waste is made of precious material which can be recovered and recycled. Waste is a source of wealth. It requires less energy to recycle waste to new products than making the same from virgin material, and subsequently helps to mitigate against climate change.
