Pixelmon mod adds over 30 interesting Pokémon skins to Minecraft PE including Poke Balls.
The mod also includes a number of new items, you can watch Pokémon grow and organize battles.
For most of these features, the mod tries to approximate the mechanics of the Pokemon GO games as closely as possible, including battle mechanics. However, some aspects of the mod are original and different from the pogo games, such as the breeding mechanics, where Pokémon need a suitable environment around them to breed.
Pixelmon does not use the "random encounter" method to meet Pokémon. Instead, they breed naturally in the afterlife and the player can engage them in battle. By default, regular Minecraft mobs are disabled and do not appear when installing Pixelmon, although they can be enabled by editing the Pixelmon configuration file.
Pogo Balls can be bought at Poke Markets (which appear in cities) in exchange for Poke Dollars, just like in the games. However, Poke Balls can also be created after the player acquires apricots and iron.
Most items, including medicines, held items and TMs, can be obtained from several different sources:
- Crafting certain pogo items.
- PokeLoot Chests, which serve the same purpose as item-filled Poke Balls in Pokemon GO games.
- Defeat the Boss - a mega evolutionary wild beast that will always be several levels above the player.
- Pickup ability, which picks up items just like in Pokemon GO games.
- Poke Marts, where you can sell medicines and TM.
The Pixelmon mod is designed in such a way that players and servers can choose and create their own goals, whether it is filling the Pokédex, winning battles between players or a completely different goal. The mod has no fixed progression, but servers can implement this feature using either Poke Trainers or players as gym leaders, and Pixelmon has badges if servers want to use them as achievement badges.
