This is a novel written(Tamil) by Kalki Krishnamurthy. The novel won the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1956.

The story takes place during the freedom struggle. It illustrates how the general mood of the partition that came with independence was.

Very little literature has been published on the period of Indian partition, the great Exodus of world history, and this "wave sound" is one of the most significant in Tamil.

இக்கதை சுதந்திர போராட்ட காலத்தில் நடக்கிறது. சுதந்திரத்துடன் வந்த பிரிவினையின் பொது மக்களின் மனநிலை எவ்வாறு இருந்தது என எடுத்துக்காட்டுகிறது.

உலக வரலாற்றின் மாபெரும் மனித வெளியேற்றம் (Exodus) நடந்த இந்தியப் பிரிவினை காலத்தைப் பற்றி மிகக் குறைந்த இலக்கியங்களே வெளிவந்துள்ளன, அவற்றில் இந்த "அலை ஓசை" தமிழில் வந்த குறிப்பிடத்தகுந்த ஒன்று.
