Diba'an is a tradition of reading or chanting prayers to the Prophet Muhammad which was carried out by the people of NU. The recitation of the prayers is carried out in turn.

There are regular reading sections, but other parts use more songs. The term diba'an refers to a book containing the praise of al-Imam al-Jaliil as-Sayyid as-Shaykh Abu Muhammad Abdurrahman ad-Diba'iy asy-Syaibani az-Zubaidi al-Hasaniy.

The book is popularly known as the book Maulid Diba '. The recitation of these praise poems is usually done in the month of Maulud (Rabiul Awal) as a series of commemoration of the Prophet's birthday.
