The iron crack or tempera-viola (Saltator similis) is a passerine bird of the Thraupidae family, which occurs in Brazil and neighboring countries, with a general olive coloration, grayish head, light ochre throat, olive-grey chest and abdomen, washed with ocher in the middle. Its diet is based on wild fruits and insects, and it can also feed on small vertebrates, including attacking the nests of other birds to feed on eggs and chicks.
