The Catharina Obesity Center app has been specially developed for the patients of the Obesity Center and supports them throughout the entire process. The app is the online coach where patients can go at any time for reliable information about obesity and the procedure.
The Obesity Center of the Catharina Hospital Eindhoven consists of healthcare professionals who are specialized in the treatment of obese patients. The care process consists of the pre-and after-care related to gastric reduction surgery.
Obese patients undergoing gastric bypass surgery are encouraged to make a lifelong lifestyle change. For example, exercise and healthy nutrition are extremely important in this new life. There is plenty of information about this healthy lifestyle in the app.
The app includes:
- Videos explaining the trajectory and expectations;
- Lesson modules with detailed information about the operation and everything that comes with it;
- Recipe book with recipes that have been compiled by the own dietetics team;
- Sports program with example exercises;
- Forum where contact can be sought with fellow sufferers;
- Patient experience stories in which already operated patients share their experience;
- Registration possibility for certain activities (such as theme evenings and cooking workshops);
- Current news about the care process.
