"Presumptive / Empirical treatment" is prescribed typically while waiting for the culture report or in situations where the facilities for doing these tests is not available, is difficult or not cost effective or is impractical.

The app is based on "National Treatment Guidelines for Antimicrobial Use in Infectious Diseases" guidelines.
