Imam and hadith scholar Abu Abd al-Rahman Muhammad ibn al-Hajj Nuh ibn Najati ibn Adam al-Ashqudari al-Albani al-Arnauti, known as Muhammad Nasir al-Din al-Albani (1914 - 1999), a scholar of hadith affairs and considered one of the famous hadith scholars in the modern era. He has many books and works on the science of hadith and others. Muhammad Nasir al-Din al-Albani was born in 1333 AH 1914 AD in Ashkodara, the ancient capital of Albania. His father studied Sharia law in Istanbul and returned to his country and became one of the leading scholars of the Hanafi school of thought there, but he disagreed with King Ahmed Zogu’s Western orientations after he banned women from wearing the niqab, so he and his family immigrated to Damascus. With him is his son Muhammad.
During which Al-Albani completed his primary studies at the Al-Isaf Al-Khair School in Damascus with distinction, and due to his father’s own opinion about regular schools from a religious standpoint, he decided that his son would not complete regular education and developed a focused scientific curriculum for him through which he taught him the Holy Qur’an, intonation, grammar, morphology, and the jurisprudence of the Hanafi school of thought. Al-Albani was able to He concluded his memorization of the Qur’an at the hands of his father with the narration of Hafs on the authority of Asim, and among the books he studied for him was the book Mukhtasar al-Qadduri on Hanafi jurisprudence. He also studied with Sheikh Saeed al-Burhani Maraqi al-Falah on Hanafi jurisprudence and some books on language and rhetoric. Al-Albani also took up the profession of repairing watches from his father, and he became proficient in it until he became famous in it, and began to earn a living from it. This profession provided him with good time for reading and studying, and his migration to the Levant provided him with knowledge of the Arabic language and access to Sharia sciences from his original sources.
