The newspaper A CIDADE de Angra dos Reis was founded on October 23, 1997 by journalist José Miziara.
A CIDADE was the first newspaper from Angra to be edited in color and with an offset paper cover. Which made the edits lighter.
Its editorial line addresses topics such as: police, politics, social, sports, health, education, in short, all topics aimed at informing the population.
In November 2008, the founder of A CIDADE passed away, and the editorship and presidency of the company passed to his wife, also journalist Danielle Afif, who maintained the same editorial line and social commitments as the newspaper.
CIDADE, over the years, conquered the leadership of the journalistic market of Costa Verde, for maintaining the commitment with the truth, ethics and respect to the population of the region.
With the pandemic, A CIDADE began to act online, via digital media, until reaching the news portal A CIDADE COSTA VERDE, maintaining the same editorial line, enshrined in the printed newspaper.
