The University Medical Center of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz is the only medical institution of the supramaximal care in Rhineland-Palatinate and an internationally recognized scientific location. Our more than 60 clinics, institutes and departments represent the entire spectrum of modern medicine. Optimal patient care based on state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and the latest research findings is our claim. The Mainz University Medical Center has around 1,500 beds and treats around 341,000 patients a year, including nearly 273,000 outpatients. At the wards, excellently trained and experienced teams of physicians and nurses provide around 68,000 patients each year.

In order to ensure the success of our work, university medicine relies on well-trained specialists. More than 660 trainees and interns are taught and trained in more than 20 training occupations - both medical health professions and commercial and technical careers. In total, around 7,800 employees of various professions ensure that your stay with us is as smooth as possible.

In the field of medical science - in research as well as in the teaching of the approximately 3,400 students - the University Medical Center cooperates with various faculties of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and with external research institutions. In addition, the University Medical Center cooperates with numerous regional, national and international partners.
