Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim are two of the most authentic hadith books, but Sahih Bukhari is more important. The reason is that Imam Bukhari only included the hadiths in his Sahih which have the following conditions:

1. narrators of hadith contemporaries with the teacher who delivered the hadith to him
2. The information that the narrator actually heard the hadith from his teacher must be valid

Whereas Imam Muslim does not require the second condition, as long as the narrator and his teacher are contemporaries, that is considered sufficient.
