Fasting by language is restrained. According to Islamic Sharia which is a form of Worship Activity to Allah SWT by refraining from eating, drinking, lust, and other things that can cancel Fasting from sunrise to sunset with intention.

The benefits of fasting are to make us resistant to lust, patience, honesty, caring for the poor, always grateful to Allah SWT and also to make the body healthier

There are compulsory fasts and sunnah including;
+ Ramadan fasting and
+ Sunnah fasting which is the example of the Prophet
