Wetlands are transitional ecosystems that support our biodiversity. In them it is possible to find a rich variety of birds and animals that coexist in harmony with their environment.

In the region of La Araucanía, the wetlands are recognized by the Mapuche people as menoko, mallin, hualve or pitranto, which is related from their practice and cultural knowledge with these spaces of diverse life or itxofill mogen.
