It is a leggy animal with a long and thick coat whose colors vary from dark brown to beige, including sand. A mane adorns the back of his neck and a beard of long hairs hangs down his neck. A tuft of longer hair sometimes adorns the top of the head and bumps.
As with the dromedary, its joints and chest are fitted with protective pads that allow it to roam safely on the burning sand of the desert. Its head is long and a little triangular. Its nostrils form two slits that can close in a sandstorm. The eyes are protected by a double row of eyelashes. It's a transport for the Saharans.
