This small rodent, about thirty centimeters in adulthood, is the one that lives the longest. In fact, her life expectancy can take around twenty years. An excellent climber, the Chinchilla is also very fearful and timid at first. His coat, shiny and silky, was his main handicap for a long time, since he was hunted and killed for it. Despite its beautiful little face, the Chinchilla does not let itself be so easily tamed, let alone caressed or handled. Therefore, it is strongly discouraged for children under 14 years old. This nocturnal animal however manages to play with its owner once domestication has been carried out.
