For the first time in New York City, help create an open curb cut repository. Curb cuts, you know, those dips in the sidewalk that allow people with disabilities, mobile issues, or simply those with strollers or shopping carts to cross the street. New York City has many of them. At each intersection there can be as many as 8 curb cuts. But there is a problem. They are not being maintained. And for many people to depend on them being in good shape it forces an unnecessary burden on them to avoid broken pieces of curb, uneven slopes, or even gaps or abrupt height differences, making the curb cut a disaster to traverse.
This app will allow you to take a snapshot of a curb cut and let it become part of the first and only repository that documents the condition of each and every curb cut, one photo at a time.
