Problem
In recent years the MiC Museums, Archives and Cultural Institutes have promoted growing digitalisation processes in order to protect, conserve and enhance cultural heritage in the digital environment.
This digitization process has produced a new digitized cultural heritage composed of a variety of digital contents accessible through collection portals of visual, sound and audiovisual documentation, composed in digital ecosystems of bibliographic services, platforms and digital archives
Solution
The mappAR app takes existing digital cultural heritage "outside" Museums and Places of Culture and creates new native digital collections (3D digital art) through innovative and more effective models of fruition and co-creation, which exploit immersive technologies and the geolocation of digital contents.
