Qasasul Ambiya (Arabic: قصص الأنبياء) or Life Stories of the Prophets is a collection of stories taken from the Qur'an and other Islamic literature, closely related to the Tafsirs. According to tradition, the author of this book is Abu Ishaq Ibrahim bin Mansur bin Khalaf, a Persian writer from Nishapur (a city in the Khorasan province of northeastern Iran) in the twelfth century (5th century Hijri). According to another tradition, Muhammad al-Kisa'i composed it in the eighth century AD (second century Hijri). Others include Arai's al-Majalis by al-Talabi (d. 1035 CE, 427 AH) and Qasas al-Ambiyyah by Ibn Kasir (d. 1372 CE, 774 AH). The accounts narrated in Kasasul Ambiya are not about providing historical accuracy, but about knowledge and moral education.
