SpinTrace Recorder
The app’s main purpose is to automatically record every trip (route, distance and duration) made with your car, even when your phone is asleep or the app is off. Recording happens only when connected to previously paired (“known”) vehicles that contain a Bluetooth device. The main benefit of the application is that, after the initial setup, you don’t have to interact with the application anymore or interact with it only minimally (setup & forget). It simply works for you.

How it works
This is how SpinTrace Recorder works in a nutshell:
1.  After the initial setup, the Recorder can identify known vehicles using Bluetooth technology.
2.  The trip recording starts when the smartphone connects to the known vehicle (typically when you start your car).
3.  The Recorder then uses accurate GPS tracking - to never miss a mile of your drive.
4.  Once you leave your car, trip recording is stopped, and the trip route is stored to SpinTrace Web App.
5.  SpinTrace then calculates total distance, duration and also automatically determines the start and end address of your trip.
6.  Such trip is then ready to be used in reports.
All this happens automatically, even when the phone is asleep in the pocket. So no driver in your company will ever forget to record a business trip again!

Attention: Location Permissions Notice
The trip recording and storage of completed trips work even when the app is off or when the phone is asleep. Be aware that for this feature to work, the application has to have access to your location in the background and will not ask for location permission every time a trip in a known car needs to be recorded. If you are uncomfortable with such location access, you can turn off the “Record trip automatically on Bluetooth” option in the app settings. You can then still use SpinTrace Recorder to record your trips manually.
