The current San Paolo Pharmacy in Rome, owned by Dr. Patrizia Albertazzi, was opened, under the name of Pharmacy Magalini, shortly before the Second World War in via Ostiense, where it is still located today. The name change took place in 1983 at the behest of the current owner, Roman, passionate about the history of his city, who, with the new name, wanted to remember an important historical event that happened in Rome: the battle of 10 September 1943 tragically ended at Porta San Paolo when, civilians and military, they opposed the German occupation, fighting meter after meter along the Via Ostiense.
What happened in the pharmacy during that unfortunate 10 September was told to Dr. Albertazzi by Luciana, the distinguished lady, who came to meet the new owner and to see how those premises in which she had worked for more than forty years had changed.
Luciana remembered, very excited about those times, when she was an inexperienced young girl and told that, on the evening of 9 September, before closing, she asked Dr. Magalini if ​​the next day she should come to work since everything and everyone advised against opening the pharmacy and already far away, beyond the hills of the Eur, one could hear shooting. The pharmacy was open and for all that day and in the following days he rescued and treated the wounded.
