Cyber Help Desk – A CAWS Initiative
For the past ten years, the Cyber Awareness Welfare Society (CAWS) has been working closely with state and district cyber cells across India to fight cybercrime. Our efforts include dismantling fraud rings, providing digital evidence to investigating officers, conducting 200+ awareness workshops in both rural and urban communities, running a 24×7 citizen helpline.
Building on this proven track record, CAWS has developed the Cyber Help Desk App—a free mobile application with two modules: one for citizens and another for police officers.
Citizen Module
• Raises awareness about online frauds and scams
• Provides free support to file FIRs and escalate complaints
• Offers tools to check suspicious activities and detect fraud early
• Ensures complete privacy for all citizen users
• Every account is credited with 300 free API hits per month (no subscription or payment required)
Police Module
• Restricted access for verified officers only (CAWS verification required)
• Provides faster access to trusted open and private APIs
• Eliminates typical delays of 10–50 days in retrieving data from departments
• Helps streamline investigations with consolidated, reliable information
• Supports but does not replace official investigative procedures
Data Sources & Transparency
1. Primary Data Sources
• Case studies compiled by CAWS cyber experts
• Publicly available research papers, cybersecurity blogs, and news portals
• Real-time analytics from CAWS-developed tools
2. No Government Database Access
• No direct use of government datasets
• Data is gathered from independent research projects, private APIs, and voluntary partner networks
3. Verification Process
• Police tools provide supportive insights only
• Data is meant to aid investigations but cannot be used as legal evidence
This ensures that all data remains independent, reliable, and secure, while maintaining transparency and fairness.
