In only a few decades, Buddhism has moved from being only practiced in the Eastern world and considered something exotic en the West, to mainstream acceptance in the whole planet. The Buddha's timeless teachings about the nature of suffering and the acceptance of change are applicable to all kind of situations, and some of its practices, like meditation, have positive effects on health and mood that have been confirmed by science.

This app is a compendium or starting guide containing the main concepts of the Buddhist doctrine (the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path), and also a brief explanation of the different kinds of Buddhism in the world (mainly Theravada and Mahayana, with a special note on Zen Buddhism), and some of the fundamental meditation techniques common to them (Samatha and Vipassana).
