Sudden death or cardiac arrest is a problem that occurs unexpectedly and relatively frequently in Spain. In many cases this occurs because the heart stops as a result of a lethal arrhythmia. Rapid recognition of the situation and early use of a defibrillator is essential to reverse this situation. Time is vital for a person who suffers cardiac arrest, since every minute that passes without starting CPR maneuvers and using the defibrillator reduces the chances of survival by 10%. Hence, the Spanish Council for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, the Spanish Society of Cardiology and other scientific societies advocate for the expansion of the stock of defibrillators (DEA/DESA) in our territories, whether in public or private places.
CardioMap allows you to search for the closest defibrillators in our area using its collaboratively developed map.
In addition, it provides us with all the necessary information and knowledge through links and tutorial videos, on how to use an AED and how to care for people who need this device until the emergency medical team arrives.
