Lipomas are benign fatty tissue tumors that are under the skin that grows slowly, in the form of soft-mass lobes that are covered by thin pseudocapsules in the form of fibrous tissue. Lipomas can be found on the neck, shoulders, head, back, arms and body. Other types that are located deeper than the skin such as muscles, tendons, joints, or nerves. Lipomas vary in size, from the size of peas to a few centimeters in diameter. Lipomas are usually found in old age (40-60 years), but it does not rule out the possibility of being found in children and into adulthood. Some humans have only one lipoma while many humans have only a few lipomas and this disease is a disease that can be said to be a disease that affects women and rarely affects men. The slow growth of lipomas sometimes makes people with lipomas on their bodies just realize that growing lipomas on their bodies after years.
The cause of lipoma is not known with certainty, but it is likely caused by genetic factors. Sometimes a wound caused by a blunt object can trigger the growth of lipomas. There is little chance of a lipoma becoming a cancer called liposarcoma. Liposarcoma continues to grow and usually causes pain.
Lipoma disease symptoms that can be recognized in the form of a lump that appears with an oval shape and also rounded and when touched will feel soft, especially on the affected part such as the arms, back of the neck and also on the trunk. Basically, this disease rarely causes problems, but can cause pain that is often felt by patients.
