Khairat Kematian is a form of welfare assistance that has long been practiced within the Muslim community in Malaysia. Its purpose is to help the deceased’s heirs manage matters related to burial and to provide immediate contributions to the family left behind. This tradition is usually managed by the local mosque or surau through manual collections and contributions from the qariah (congregation) members. However, with changing times and the increasing use of digital technology, this traditional management system has begun to face various challenges such as delays, inefficiency, and difficulties in recording and managing member data.
To address these issues, an initiative was introduced to develop a digital system known as Digital Khairat. It is a Khairat Kematian management system specifically designed to assist mosque and surau administrators in managing membership, fee payments, contributions, death records, and various other related matters in a more organized, fast, and efficient manner.
