Individual taxpayers can now use their resident identification number or NIK to access limited tax services from the Directorate General of Taxes. The use of NIK as an NPWP of course brings various benefits for individual taxpayers, including simplification of identity numbers so that they do not have to carry cards or memorize NPWP.

The transition to the use of NIK as NPWP is being implemented gradually in all government and private institutions so that services or products that require NPWP, such as banking services, can be accessed using the NIK.

The use of NIK as a tax identity number will also make it easier for Individual Taxpayers to carry out tax administration, such as filling out withholding evidence or tax invoices for Individual Taxpayers who have NIK by using NIK.
