Rádio Itatiaia was founded on January 20, 1952 by journalist and broadcaster Januário Laurindo Carneiro, with the motto We sell space, we don't sell opinion.
It has a program focused on sports (always present in the coverage of major events), journalism, services and entertainment.

In February 2022, Rádio Itatiaia becomes the most listened to station in Brazil, according to research by Kantar IBOPE Media.
