It is desirable to supplicate after completing the Qur’an or gathering people for it, and this is what was reported from the Messenger, peace be upon him, in the noble hadith:
To read the Qur’an is a great virtue. It is a light that illuminates our paths with faith, and we raise our ranks with it, for the one who recites the Qur’an has a great reward from the Most Merciful, as mentioned in the hadith of the Messenger, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, where he said: (A letter, but Alif is a letter, Laam is a letter, and Mim is a letter)
The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, used to gather his family after sealing the Qur’an and supplicate, and he, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, used to supplicate with universal supplications, but he did not receive a specific text of the supplication. What many do not know is that this supplication was not narrated from the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, rather it is a supplication for Ibn Taymiyyah that no one denied.
There is no evidence for specifying a specific supplication, and therefore it is permissible for a person to supplicate as he wishes, and to choose from beneficial supplications such as seeking forgiveness from sins, winning Paradise, being saved from Hellfire, seeking refuge from temptation, and seeking success in understanding the Noble Qur’an in a manner that pleases God Almighty, working with it and memorizing it. And the like, because it was proven on the authority of Anas, may God be pleased with him: (He used to gather his family when completing the Qur’an and supplicate), as for the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him: Nothing was reported from him in that.
The supplication of sealing the Noble Qur’an written in a number of editions of the Qur’an was also not mentioned by the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him,
